  • Mrs. Sherry Bivens

Mrs. Bivens has taught for 28 years at the elementary and preschool level. She has extensive post-graduate training and has implemented such programs as AIMS (hands-on science/math activities); Math Their Way, Project Read, Writer’s Workshop, Zoo Phonics (a kinesthetic spell/read program), and numerous other writing workshops. Mrs. Bivens is an avid researcher who passionately and consistently seeks out new methods to enhance her effectiveness as a teacher.

  • Shawna Stark, Pre-K, K, 1st, 2nd
  • BA, Elementary Education. Pacific Lutheran University

Mrs. Stark has taught in early childhood and primary grades for the past four years. She has also been a substitute teacher in the Peninsula School District. Mrs. Stark teaches music for various ages. She utilizes a positive approach to learning which promotes optimal student academic achievement/development.

  • Kari Hyatt
  • BA, Education, Western Washington University

Mrs. Hyatt has been teaching elementary classes for the past eight years. She is also endorsed as a special education teacher. Mrs. Hyatt is a creative, enthusiastic teacher who is known for building a strong rapport with both students and parents. She helps students develop a strong academic foundation and a love for learning.

  • Mrs. Wendy Higley
  • BA Education, University of Puget Sound

Mrs. Higley has been teaching elementary classes at Harbor Christian Schools for the past two years. She is also a Physical Education teacher, swim instructor, and has tutored students in math and reading. Mrs. Higley’s strong work ethic, relationship building skills, dedication to her students, and commitment to the mission of Harbor Christian Schools makes her a valued member of our staff.

  • Mr. Henry Hoffman
  • BA Education, Pacific Lutheran University
  • BA Theology, Major in Language, Baptist Bible Seminary

Mr. Hoffman has over 28 years experience as a teacher in secondary education and at the college level. He also served as a pastor for 16 years. He taught math and language arts at the junior high level in the public schools for 15 years. Mr. Hoffman’s ability to build strong relationships of mutual respect is highly valued by students and staff who seek him out for support and counsel.

  • Mrs. Patricia Power
  • BA, University of Baja California

Mrs. Power teaches Spanish to grades 5 — 12. She previously taught high school in Mexico and also currently teaches Spanish for the Peninsula School District.

  • Mrs. Rosa Bendezu
  • BA, Institute of Higher Education in Foreign Trade, Lima, Peru

Ms. Bendezu teaches Spanish for grades K—2. She is an enthusiastic, hands-on teacher, and inspires her young students to gain a solid foundation for learning languages
